Print the Form 4 document, each page is exactly for a team. So there are 4 sets. Distribute 3 sets only if you decided to separate your class into 3 groups, and 4 if you have 4 groups. (Use different colour paper so we can differentiate the sets)
Once you enter class:
Teach them different question types first. Separate your class into groups. Then explain marking scheme to them:
1. Each correctly pasted question earns your group 10 marks.
2. Each wrongly pasted question deduct 5 marks.
3. If human tag can find any wrong question on him, their group got 10 marks. But if the group paste wrong, human tag cannot find also, both deduct 5 marks. Fun thing is, if human tag find a correctly pasted question but he think is wrong, his group got deduct 5 marks, then the 5 marks goes to the group that correctly answers.
(This one is for you to explain to students one. The one tutor need to know is down there. I suggest you all print out and bring into class for reference IN CASE you need it. xD)
How the game goes:
After distributing into groups, give your students a set each. Then ask one student from each group to come out as your human tag. (If you got 3 groups only, get two from either one of the group, I believe your class not so even gua? sure got some group more some less one gua...? xD) You write down the type of question each student represents:
a. Sample Space
b. Event
c. Probability without using unknown. (Check previous posts for the definition of this)
d. Probability using unknown.
Ask the remaining group members to identify the questions, then paste them on the human tags in front. After finish pasting, human tag identify if all the question pasted on them are his type of question or not. If no, ask them paste every wrong question on the board (near to them ar, we need to know which human tag paste one)
1st thing you check: questions left on human tag's body.
a. Every correct question, give the group that paste 10 marks. Human tag's group no mark.
b. If you found a wrong one, pick it up, ask why the group paste there, see their response (cause' some question can be categorized under different groups)
If you accept the reason, paste it back, give them 10 marks, human tag's group no marks.
If you dont accept, both groups deduct 5 marks, cause' both groups are wrong.
2nd thing you check: question pasted by human tag on the board.
a. Every question that you think human tag is right, you ask the group that paste, why do they paste on the human tag. Listen to their reasons again.
If you accept, you explain your reasons why they can be categorized under different group also. In this case, both human tags and group that paste earn 10 marks.
If you don't accept, explain. Since the group that paste is wrong, deduct 5 marks. Human tag's group get 10 marks for correctly identifying the question
b. Every question that you think human tag is wrong, you ask human tag why he think is right. If you accept his reason, then give human tag's group 10 marks. Then you explain to human tag why the question can also be in his category also. Both groups get 10 marks.
If you don't accept, explain yourself. Since human tag's group is wrong, DEDUCT 5 marks. xD And that 5 marks goes to the group that paste, in addition, 10 marks to pasting group because they have correctly pasted.
Next. Put down the questions on the board and paste them according to the correct category. *If got question can paste into two category one, any one will do*
Then the group are required to solve the question that their human tag belongs to. Give them 10 minutes to solve as many as they can. Cause I know some category harder some easier, we just need them to answer as many as they could to find the pattern. Then, ask them to come out and present the question that they just did. (Technically ask them to teach) Then you add on what they forget to teach.
Presentation got marks, either 10, 20, 30 (4 groups then add 40) or 20, 30, 50 (20, 30, 40, 50 if 4 groups) up to you la. How many marks you see yourself la. Cause the main thing is to encourage students not to give up even they lose the first round. So if gap is big, you use bigger marks scale lo. So even last group oso can become number 1 baru syok. xD
*Add on for Form5*
Form 5 ar...headache. Many questions can belong to different groups. So...pandai pandai la.
Time allocation:
15 minutes you teach.
5 minutes explain game
20 minutes pasting and explaining
10 minutes question solving
15 minutes presenting
extra 5 minutes you pandai pandai allocate to either your teaching time or pasting/explaining la.
NOTE: CHECK ALL 40 QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU ENTER CLASS!!! MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHICH GROUP THEY BELONG TO!!! ESP FORM5 DE!!!! YOU CAN DIE IF YOU DONT GO THRU WEI!!!
