algebraic expression form 3

this chapter, we have to teach it carefully because if ull enter form 3 (expansion and factorisation) we will confuse the students.
so we stick to few things first.
teaching them plus and minus (+/-)
FIRST TYPE OF QUESTION(open bracket)
(when unknowns is the same, +/- ; when unknowns is not the same, STOP = ans)
1-open bracket
2-rearrange
3-answer
(this is the 3 steps in solving brackets questions)

for example:
-2(a-2[3+6a]) = step 123 (try out ya)

SECOND TYPE OF QUESTION(fractional type)
*refer to page 82 (Q17-Q32), pg83 (Q1-Q20 ), pg83 (Q1-Q15)

remember!!! not to enter factorisation and expansion haha

this week form 3 algebraic expression

a guidance to form 3 tutors
u will need this as a starting for your class =)
use speaker TO MAKE IT LOUD or HEADSET

take geetha book form 1,2,3, u take AE then start with page 82 (Q17-Q32), pg83 (Q1-Q20 ), pg83 (Q1-Q15 ), lastly, go to page 86 (Q1. 6, 8, 10, 20)
each part u can take around 2 to 3 as your in class example to teach them then mayb 2 as their practise.

DONT GO INTO EXPANSION AND FACTORISATION, coz if we teach now, we will confuse them. what we are teaching now is just some MORE advanced form two AE question.

to jian wen jie jie

jian wen, print this file in MATHEMATICS in cpu2, JIAN WEN PLS PRINT THIS
-chapter 6 integers 2010 (karyaw) x25
-form 1 chapter 345 x15
-from 2 chapter 4 and 5-for printing (new) x40

cover is there, u can change urself XD

(29th march) next week's material (FORM 3)

refer to liang jie

(29th march) next week's material (form 2)

teach them ratio rates and proportion.
same thing
use the siber practise as exercise
notes i think we have it, i will ask jian wen to print the notes later
first, explain what is this topic by asking them one silly question which is easy until ur dog knows how to do it.
in a classroom, there is 200 students...the ratio given is 2:3=Boy:Girl
find the number of girls in the classroom..
they sure ask...teacher...what is 2:3, what is ratio, i still dun understand...nvm...tell them..it's like i have a basket of oranges, in total, i have 10 oranges in the basket. the ratio of good to bad is 2:3...it means 2 portion of the oranges is bad...Hence, 10/5, u will get the difference, then times 2 to get to actual amount.
basically i will tell them to remember steps 1234:
(based on the Boys and Girls example)
1-what is the ratio (2:3)
2-what is the actual amount given ?(then give u the total students in the class 200), do u discover one thing, it's not good for comparison, so u have compare something light to light. so u have to total up the ratio, 2+3 to get 5
3-comparison, take 200(total in actual) divide by 5 (total in ratio) to get 40 (the difference)
4-ANS = 40 (the difference) x 2 (girls' portion, what the question want)

the answer will be 80 lo..=)
easy to explain ?

then later. u proceed to diff diff type of question
do this type of question first, before entering those got many many words wan
given m:n is 8:3, if m+n is 110 find n ? start with this type of question first
do around 5 question on this, insist them in using ur method (step 1234)

then proceed to harder question, which is the question like boys and girls...essay type wan.

Remember the step 1234, very very useful, tested in seminar, everybody know it.

***dun go into ratio in three quantities first ya!

(29th march) next week's material (form 1)

to pmr dept
form 1
teach them new chapter (percentage)
distribute books to them, later i will ask jian wen to help us print the notes
1-use around 10 mins to them something on increasing and decreasing,
form example u can teach them something like:
20 % of 59 is?
57% of 523 is?
30% of x is 68 then x is ?
this are just some basic question, u can pick some examples from the geetha book

2- use another 10 mins to teach them this formulae, which is "universal" u can use in any increase and decrease question..
" (historical cost (original price) ~ selling price) / historical price then the whole thing times 100%"
examples:
the shoe above, cost u 1000 bucks, later u sold it to jian wen for 1500, what is the percentage of increase in price?
the italic and bold word u can also change it to the following
-percentage of profit
-percentage of discount(but in this case the price goes up so no discount, if discount, the phrase can replaced as LOSS) and so on...

try to teach them more question on this few sub topic..
another exercise "siber practise" the book we always use to give students exercise
